On Set at 23 Weeks

Hair and makeup are done, questions are ready, Instagram Live cued up, and all I can think about was keeping my saltine crackers down. During one of my interviews for #ConnectShareRepeat, I was about 7 weeks pregnant. Although bébé was the size of a blueberry, it was controlling my every move. The morning sickness had definitely thrown my concentration for a loop. There were days where just typing and scrolling through my phone made me nauseous. During the interview, I rushed through my questions and tried to focus on the interviewee. All I could think about was, ‘How am I going to manage these interviews 2-3 times a week?!’ But I wanted to stay committed to several more interviews I had lined up through May, so I had the questions in one hand and a ginger ale in the other.

I have to admit, though, between figuring out how to navigate my own small business ventures through the craziness of COVID, and Baby W’s plan to slowly kill me, my blog and YouTube series took a hit. I couldn’t commit to editing and writing the follow-up questions, and a little break was what was best for me.

When I began to feel better, and it came time to reflect on my little passion project, the same dumb fears came over me. No one needs this information, no one is going to listen, etc. etc. etc. Finally, I reminded myself of why I started. The whole initial idea behind Connect Share Repeat was connecting with creative small business owners, allowing them to share how they were navigating the global pandemic, and then passing that information with those who needed it the most- other small business owners. And hey, if no one listened or watched or cared, I still got to connect with friends and industry leaders. So, here I am, months after going live on Instagram and ready to share the knowledge of some of my favorite peeps. Bringing forward the experience they have to offer. I will continue to post the remaining videos on my YouTube channel (link below). And who knows, maybe I’ll pick up more interviews one day. Until then, enjoy!
